Scissor lifts have been designed to provide a larger work area and are usually used to lift many workers requiring access to the same platform. This type of aerial lift is used for raising heavy machinery, people and materials. These industrial machines come in many sizes, varieties and colors. Most hydraulic lifts and scissor lifts are powered by either gas or electricity.

Electric models are typically quieter equipment making them most suitable for warehouse operations. Scissor lifts which are powered by either gas or diesel are often known as rough-terrain lifts that are more suitable for outdoor jobsites.

Scissor lifts are really common machinery in the industrialized world, and are vital material handling equipment. There are a range of different model types offered on the market.
