Reach Truck
In order to keep storage places orderly and to store supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck can be utilized. The reach truck is available in several types: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.

The simplest kind is the stand-up. The truck forks slide under the pallet and move it to the appropriate storage location. The forks slide the pallet into position. This kind of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are only one pallet in depth.

The double-deep reach truck is similar to the stand-up, but is ideal for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods. This model has telescopic forks designed to put the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when another pallet has to go into the same shelving section.

The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they can both slide underneath the pallet and grasp the sides too. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This version is best in conditions where goods would not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.

Usually more than one type of reach truck is required in warehouses. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies use different kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to utilize and could make the most of available storage space while increasing productivity.
