Forklift Classifications
The following forklift classes describe the use and fuel option of every forklift. Certification is required for every class of forklift that the operator will be using.

Class 1 - Electric Motor Rider Trucks
These forklifts are available with either cushion tires or pneumatic tires. Pneumatic tires are recommended during dry conditions for outdoor use. The cushion tired models are designed for smooth, indoor surfaces. These are electrically powered vehicles which utilize industrial batteries, that make them suitable in closed locations where the quality of air is an issue. Hoist functions and travel are controlled by transistor motor controllers. These are versatile units normally used everywhere from storage facility to the loading dock.

Class 2 - Electric Motor Narrow Aisle Trucks
This forklift is recommended for locations where narrow aisles have to be negotiated. They are effective at making the most of storage space. Their unique design makes them perfect for small spaces and where speed is needed.

Class 3 - Electric Motor Hand or Hand-Rider Trucks
These are battery-powered and hand-controlled models. Utilizing a steering tiller, the operator can operate the lift while standing in front of the truck. The tiller has controls mounted on top and is moved sideways to be able to steer the vehicle. The smaller capacity units use industrial batteries.
