Potain Cranes

The company Potain was established within La Clayette, France during the year 1928. Since that time, the company has grown into a leading producer of cranes. The company is responsible for over 100,000 cranes in operation around the world. At present, the company makes over 60 models from different manufacturing plants in China, France, Italy, Portugal and Germany. The business represents many different product ranges used for a variety of applications. These equipments are sold through a global Manitowoc dealer network.

The family of Potain cranes are divided into different tower crane families. The smallest cranes produced by Potain are the self-erecting cranes. These cranes range from 1 ton to 7.98 ton capacity. The next size up is the top-slewing cranes which are larger and higher. These cranes vary from 7.98 to 64 tons. In addition, these are the largest custom-made special application cranes. These models provide a reach capacity of one hundred sixty tons.

Several of the main innovations with the company comprise the LLC range of hoists, the Dialog control system and the Vision Cab. The growing reputation of the company has expanded their appeal with different models. Potain cranes are usually found on conventional construction sites, power stations, bridge building projects, ship-building projects and shipbuilding yards.

Manitowoc has 2 of their biggest manufacturing facilities within the United States. The Manitowoc manufacturing facility is situated in Wisconsin. In this state, both the tower crane parts and crawler cranes are constructed within the state of Pennsylvania in the Shady Grove plant. Here boom trucks and mobile cranes are manufactured. Regional offices are located in Mexico and in Brazil. Moreover, the extensive dealer network situated throughout Alabama and the USA offers coverage and support unrivalled by any other crane manufacturer.
