Gradall Aerial Lifts

Gradall Aerial Lifts

Classifications of Scissor Lifts & Aerial Lift Platforms
A scissor lift consists of a series of crisscrossed steel arms which are linked to make an X pattern. When raised vertically, the X pattern of support holds the rectangular platform that is located on top of the lifting apparatus. There are support railings along the lifting mechanism's edges to be able to keep the employees safe and help to secure their tools.

Scissor lifts offer a low profile that is ideal for pavement, hard dirt surfaces and concrete. These machinery use either an electric motor or a combustion engine in order to move the lift and power the lifting apparatus. The operator must move the lift itself if he or she needs to travel horizontally, because the lift mechanism only operates the lift in a vertical manner.

Rough Terrain Scissor Lift
The rough terrain scissor lift and the standard scissor lift use identical lifting technology. The main difference is that the rough terrain models feature a different base that is particularly made for surfaces which are not even. These units also provide oversized all terrain tires and higher ground clearance. The rough terrain scissor lifts use 4-wheel drive so as to easily navigate through difficult and muddy terrain.

Telescopic Boom Lift
The telescopic boom lift uses a telescoping beam which raises both vertically and diagonally. This particular model has a small work platform that houses controls to be able to control the boom. The controls function with a combustion engine in order to power the hydraulics which power the boom and move the lift. The telescopic boom lift has off-road capable tires and is an independent lift unit.

Articulating Boom Lift
The articulating boom lift features 2 telescopic booms that are attached with a moving elbow apparatus. This lifting equipment has a bucket or a small work platform which is equipped with hand controls in order to control the boom. These are stand-alone lifts that are powered by a combustion engine. Articulating boom lifts are offered with either off-road or hard surface tires. These lifts are designed to be able to reach on top of and over top of buildings.

Aerial Mast Lift
To be able to raise a work platform vertically into the air, the aerial mast lift utilizes a telescopic mast. The lift is typically powered electrically or pneumatically and are self-propelled units. These machines provide a great solution for working in high racks in narrow warehouse aisles. It is really essential to note that aerial mast lifts are limited to vertical movement and are not recommended for off-road application.
